Using the Apple Maps App

I have developed several guides on the Apple Maps App to aid in campground searching. Here is my map. The dots are all the campgrounds I have entered on the map.

Here is how you develop guides:

  • Open up your Apple Maps App
  • Find the campground you want to add to a guide
  • Once you have found the campground, choose “Save To”.
  • Then choose “New Guide”. As you can see here, I have many guides. You can make as many guides as you want.
  • To add another campground to one of your guides:
    • Find the campground you want to add
    • As before, choose “Save To”
    • Then choose the guide you want to add it to

How to use your guides

Once you have entered all the campgrounds you want into a guide, you can see all campgrounds in that guide at a glance. Here’s how:

  • In your Apple Maps App, to open the guide you want to see, drag the tab to see your guides:
  • If you have multiple guides, like I do, you will need to click on “See All”.
  • Click on the guide you want to view on the map. For example, we will look at my TT guide campgrounds. So I’ll click on the TT guide. You will see all the TT campgrounds on the map.
  • You can zoom in to any area to see what campgrounds there are in that area. So let’s say, we want to stay somewhere near Dallas and I want to see what TT campgrounds there are in that area. I can zoom in close to Dallas and you will see the TT campgrounds in that area.
  • You can do this for any of the guides you develop. It is a very helpful tool for campground searching and well worth the time it takes to develop the guides.
